NVWDA $1K PROFFESIONAL Progress Scholarship

Launching 2027!

Who It's For

The scholarship is designed for active equestrian professionals who demonstrate a sustained commitment to Western Dressage and seek to further their professional development through education, training, certification, licensing, or other approved professional-development opportunities.

How It Works

The NVWDA $1K Professional Progress Scholarship provides up to $1,000 in financial assistance to one eligible NVWDA member annually to support professional development that advances their knowledge, skills, services, or credentials within the Western Dressage and broader equestrian community.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted via the NVWDA website form below between October 1 and October 31 each calendar year. Late submissions will not be accepted. Recipients will be announced on November 30 and contacted via email.

Getting Started - Do You Qualify?

  • Applicants must be actively working within the equine industry
  • Applicants must be a member of both WDAA and NVWDA in good standing
  • Applicants must demostrate qualifying professional and Western Dressage community involvement
  • Applicants must download and review the complete program requirements, as outlined in the Official NVWDA Achievement Guide

Participation Requirement

Applicants must have earned four (4) qualifying scores of 62% or higher as an Open or Adult Amateur competitor in NVWDA Scenic Saddle Virtual Shows, NVWDA-Sanctioned and/or NVWDA-Recognized Live events between January 1 and October 31 of the same calendar year.

Applicants must meet one of the following participation pathways:

  1. Live-Only: Four (4) qualifying scores earned across at least three (3) different NVWDA-Sanctioned or NVWDA-Recognized Live events
  2. Live + Virtual (2 + 2): Four (4) qualifying scores consisting of two (2) scores earned at two (2) different NVWDA-Sanctioned or NVWDA-Recognized Live events and two (2) scores earned at two (2) different NVWDA Scenic Saddle Virtual Show events; or
  3. Live + Virtual (1 + 3): Four (4) qualifying scores consisting of one (1) score earned at one (1) NVWDA-Sanctioned or NVWDA-Recognized Live event and three (3) scores earned at three (3) different NVWDA Scenic Saddle Virtual Show events; or
  4. Virtual-Only: Four (4) qualifying scores earned across four (4) different NVWDA Scenic Saddle Virtual Show events.
